Do I have to pick up my packet on Friday?We highly recommend attending packet pickup on Friday or having someone pick up your packet for you if possible. This is incredibly helpful for our team and ensures race morning goes smoothly. However, we understand that not everyone can make it. If you are unable to attend Friday's pick-up, you can have a friend pick it up for you. Make sure they provide a printed and signed copy of your registration information.

Is there anything else that I need to know about Packet Pickup?The Springfield Jazz & Blues Fest will be happening during packet pickup. Be sure to stick around while you enjoy the music and a beer. Also, allow for some extra time for parking and getting to the brewery as it will likely be more crowded than usual. The Happy Kids Fun Run begins at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 9. If you're around at packet pickup, go out and cheer on the kids as they run this inaugural race!

Can I pick up my packet the morning of the race?Absolutely! We will start morning-of packet pickup at 5:30 A.M. on race day. However, we highly suggest that you pick up your packet (or have someone else pick it up for you) on Friday night. This makes race day run more smoothly - plus you don't want to miss Friday's fun at the brewery! If you do plan to pick up the morning of, please arrive as early as possible so that we are able to start the race on time. Stay tuned for race morning packet pickup information.

Where can I park on during Packet Pickup?Parking is available in the 99 Parking Garage, at Mother Stewart's Brewing Company, and in various other locations near by. While most parking is free, please also use your best judgement and be sure to look at any appropriate signage to make sure! Also, be advised that the Springfield Jazz & Blues Fest will be in full swing. Allow for some extra time to park and stay for the music!

Where can I park on race day?The best place to park is the 99 Parking Garage near the finish line. There are various free and paid lots in the area. Please use your best judgement and arrive early to avoid road closures. The map below is subject to change:

What is included with my registration?Happy Half Marathon and Hoppy 5K participants will receive a shirt (if you signed up before 7/26) and a unique finishers medal. Champion City Challenge participants will receive a shirt, a half-marathon medal, and a 5K medal. Happy Kids Fun Run participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal. ​ There will be entertainment, snacks, and water for participants in the post-race festival area. DON'T FORGET: A pancake breakfast is also included in your race registration so make sure you head over to Mother Stewart's Brewing Company immediately following the race for breakfast and more live entertainment!

Can someone else pick up my bib and shirt?Yes! While we will miss you at packet pickup, someone else may pick up your bib and shirt for you. They will just need your confirmation number and a picture of your ID.

I'm just watching the race this year, what should I do?Spectators are welcome to watch the race from any point along the course. There are plenty of great viewing areas to cheer on family, friends, and strangers who are participating in the race!

Are strollers allowed on the course?If you prefer to run with a stroller, we are happy to welcome that! However, we do ask that you are considerate of our other runners, as the course is narrow. Please try to stay near the sides or back of the course as much as possible.

How long is the course open?As the course is public, it does not close. However, the race will be timed for 4 hours.

Is water available on the course?Of course! We have nine water stations located along the course and maned by our 200+ gracious volunteers. Each station will provide water and electrolytes to runners. One water station along the course will offer energy gels.

Are there age group awards?No.

How does the Happy Kids Fun Run work?Happy Kids Fun Run participants are asked to pick up their race packets by 5:30 PM on Friday, August 9. Each child and parent/guardian will receive a wrist band. The race begins at 6:00 PM in front of Mother Stewart's Brewing Company at the corner of Center Street and Columbia Street. Participants will turn left onto North Wittenberg Ave, turn left onto left onto West High Street, and left again on Center Street. The race will finish on Columbia Street. Parents/guardians are encouraged to run with their child during the race. Volunteers will be placed at all intersections, but participants are encouraged to run on the sidewalk wherever possible.

How does the Champion City Challenge work?Challenge participants will begin the Hoppy 5K at the scheduled start time of 7:00 AM. Each participant will have 35 minutes to complete the 5K and get back to the start line. To get to the start line upon completion of the 5K, participants will go through Fisher Street (map below) and begin the half-marathon. Participants who arrive at the start line before 7:30 AM will start at the scheduled half-marathon time. Anyone who arrives after 7:30 AM will start as soon as possible. The start line will close at 7:35 AM.

Where does the race start?The Hoppy 5K and Happy Half Marathon start near the intersection of High Street and Fisher Street. Arrive early to take advantage of the best parking spots and avoid road closures.
